Take Action to Aid Flood Victims in Pakistan
Over 20 million people continue to be affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan. The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), a Federation partner and one of the world’s leading Jewish humanitarian assistance organizations, is collecting funds to help flood victims by providing life-saving food, medicine, shelter supplies and other necessities. Make a contribution or learn more about the JDC's efforts.

International Welcome Center
Thanks to a generous $50,000 grant from the Maltz Family Foundation, the Federation has commissioned an urban planner and tapped Baiju Shah, president and CEO of the high–tech incubator BioEnterprise, to assemble a diverse leadership team to oversee the design of an International Welcome Center, which aims to increase the transition of international workers and their families into Northeast Ohio's economy and community life. The Federation commissioned a report that highlights a wide range of strategies for immigrant attraction and retention. Read The Plain Dealer editorial, and follow the coverage: July, August, September.

Express Solidarity for Gilad Shalit
August 28, marked Gilad's 24th birthday -- his fifth in captivity. Soon, his family will gather for Rosh Hashanah, once more without him in their midst. Please help keep awareness of Gilad Shalit strong! Visit www.giladgreetings.org to express your solidarity. Write virtual birthday and/or Rosh Hashanah messages to Gilad, view a new video about his plight, read Elie Wiesel's recent message and view Congressional resolutions on Gilad's behalf.
