Meet the IDF Officers:

First Lieutenant Dana Shlezinger – Dana was recruited into the IDF’s Education Corps in 2013 where she worked with new immigrants and youth at-risk. Dana became a commander leading the education corps soldiers and Nahal groups in the Ashkelon region and her role was to create new community initiatives and guide soldiers that would eventually go on to Havat HaShomer and Machve Alon. Today, she is a platoon commander in MARVA, where youth from all over the world come for a two-month army experience. Her company is engaged in advocacy for the Land of Israel and focused on creating a better and cleaner world.

Major Moran Stoudniya – Moran was drafted into the army in 2001 and trained as a non-office Social Worker, helping soldiers with different challenges and special needs (financial, emotional, and social). After graduating with a degree in social studies, she continued working in the IDF in the Social Work division. Since 2015, Moran is the head of a Course Planning Unit in the HR Division, focusing on enhancing the screening process for all IDF soldiers before recruitment and especially for the “special populations” like the youth at-risk and minorities in Israel (Druze, Bedouin, Muslim).

First Lieutenant Yael Hadar – Yael served as a commander of special populations when she began her army service. She worked with young men with behavior issues, criminal records, and difficult backgrounds along with other minority populations. Yael then served as a platoon commander of Eitan soldiers, young women who come from at-risk backgrounds. Later, she became a company commander for Ethiopian soldiers, both men and women. Her company, at Machve Alon, was established as a “second chance” screening process to help Ethiopian soldiers find the best jobs possible.
