Cleveland plays a big part in a new exhibit at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Roe Green Gallery. On November 1, curator Lisa Kurzner joined community members in an intimate setting to discuss “Hineni: HERE I AM,” Israeli Works of Art in Cleveland Collections.

The selection of works from Cleveland collections reveals the singularity of the artist struggling to define his position in relation to Israel’s surrounding cultural and natural landscape. Driven by differing attitudes and motivations, the artists share a profound connection to the diaspora and portray complex sensations of displacement and arrival.
