Jewish Federation to Launch 2027 Campaign with Super Sunday Kickoff on August 30
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland will launch the 2027 Campaign for Jewish Needs on Sunday, August 30 with a Super Sunday Kickoff event for the entire community! The Campaign for Jewish Needs is the Cleveland Jewish community’s annual fundraising campaign that provides the critical dollars necessary to help keep our diverse local community safe, strong, and welcoming, as well as serve the needs of the global Jewish community.
Throughout the day, attendees can help fundraise on behalf of the Campaign, make their own Campaign pledge, and participate in activities for all ages.
Highlights include:
- Community-wide fundraising from 10 am to 4 pm
- Kosher lunch at noon
- J-Day Camps' "Camp for Good" sessions for children (rising K-6th grade) at 10:15 am and 1:15 pm
- Family-friendly activities from 1 to 4 pm., including a bounce house, magician, face painting, and ice cream
- Teen basketball tournament at 1:15 pm
- Closing celebration and announcement of the day's fundraising total at 4 pm
"Super Sunday is an opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate what makes Jewish Cleveland so special, and demonstrate the collective impact we can make when we give back," said Lynne Cohen, general Campaign chair. "Whether you're making a meaningful gift, volunteering your time, or reconnecting with friends, everyone has an important place at this community-wide event."
Community members are encouraged to pre-register to expedite check-in on the day of the event. In the days leading up to Super Sunday, registered participants will receive an email with instructions to create their outreach portal password, allowing them to fundraise on behalf of the Campaign before and after the event.
Super Sunday Kickoff will take place from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday, August 30 at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building (25701 Science Park Drive in Beachwood). Family activities will begin at 1 pm. Attendees can come to the event for a few hours or all day as their schedule allows. Event co-chairs are Allison Brandon of University Heights, and Jono and Alix Nisenboum of Highland Heights.
The Federation is the only organization in Cleveland that considers the needs of the Jewish community as a whole and plans for its future. 90 cents of each dollar donated goes directly to the community. The 2027 Campaign for Jewish Needs will conclude on December 8, 2026.
