Members of the PJ Our Way Local Design Team connect with Veera on Skype

Cleveland’s PJ Our Way Design Team is hard at work!

Last Sunday, tween members of Cleveland’s PJ Our Way Local Design Team interviewed Veera Hiranandani, author of PJ Our Way Book - - The Whole Story of Half a Girl. With the help of Julie Frayman, Arts & Culture Program Associate at The Mandel JCC, the kids asked thoughtful questions and learned many things about Veera’s childhood where she had trouble fitting in as a ½ Jewish ½ Indian girl … how books became Veera’s friends … and how Veera eventually became an author. They also learned about Veera’s hobbies, family, and even met her cat via Skype. Check out the attached picture of the kids connecting with Veera on Skype.

Such excitement and happiness to be speaking to a real author!

PJ Our Way is the next chapter of PJ Library® for 9- to 11-year-olds. Just like PJ Library, kids can receive free Jewish books delivered every month – books that they choose themselves! PJ Our Way also offers a safe online community for kids to connect, share creations and ideas, and meet authors. Learn more and register at www.pjourway.org.

In partnership with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Library® in Cleveland is generously funded by Mort and Iris November in celebration of Debra Ann November's life.
