As you know, Steve Hoffman has decided to retire on December 31, 2018 after almost 35 years as our president. Since making this announcement earlier this year, the Search Committee has been working with Deborah Smith, a long-time consultant to Jewish Federations of North America who has assisted numerous Jewish communities through the process we have begun. We also have recently retained Howard & O’Brien, an executive search firm based in Cleveland, to help vet candidates and manage our deliberate, thoughtful, and seamless leadership transition process.

The job description is now available on the Federation website: http://www.jewishcleveland.org/jobs/. Please encourage anyone you think would be highly qualified for this position to reach out to the Howard & O’Brien contact provided in the posting.

Thanks to Steve’s superb leadership, we are blessed to move into this next chapter of our organization’s storied history with an impeccable reputation, a clear vision for the future, and the strong financial footing to support our integrated and inclusive growth plan.

Wishing you and your family a Happy Passover,

Gary L. Gross
Board Chair
