Over 350 members of our community gathered to remember Israel’s fallen soldiers at Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day. IDF soldiers and members of our Jewish community led a meaningful commemoration in both Hebrew and English to remember the 23,000 heroes who gave their lives for the state of Israel. Sensitive remarks by Eric Bell, whose son currently serves in the IDF, reminded us of the bravery and strength that Israel’s young soldiers represent. Together, we sang “Hatikva,” Israel’s national anthem, which represents the hope of the Jewish people. Todah (thank you) to our hosts, the IDF delegation, and all our guests for a memorable evening. As Yom Hazikaron comes to a somber end, we prepare to celebrate a joyous and festive Yom Ha’atzmaut tonight at Landerhaven.
