YLDay of Caring Across Cleveland

Description

Meet new people and make a difference in our community by feeding the hungry, caring for the elderly, helping provide books to children in need, and more! Whatever your passion, there’s a volunteer opportunity for you!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

MONTEFIORE:
- Volunteers will meet residents and transport them to the Auditorium to play games. There will be different games including pokeno, cards, checkers, yahtzee, sorry, etc. Participants are welcome to bring their own games as well.
- For ages 4 and up.

CLEVELAND CHESED CENTER:
- The activity depends on the needs present and may vary from hanging clothing, stocking shelves, organizing our clothing sale, or packing boxes.
- For ages 8 and up.

REPLAY FOR KIDS @ MANDEL JDS:
- Volunteers will be adapting battery-operated toys for children with disabilities.
- For ages 13 and up.

HORVITZ YOUTHABILITY OF JFSA @ BEACHWOOD HIGH SCHOOL:
- Volunteers will be exercise buddies for teens/ young adults with disabilities. We will do stretching, a bit of cardio, a bit of strength, and more. Volunteers will exercise side by side with our participants, thus gently encouraging them to exert and exercise
- For ages 13 and up.

KIDS' BOOK BANK:
- Volunteers can expect to handle hundreds of children's books as we sort them by reading level and pack them into boxes in preparation for their distribution to partner organizations in the area.
- For ages 13 and up.

Sunday, January 26
9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Light food and beverages will be provided.
(kosher dietary laws observed)

YLD will notify volunteers in advance with confirmed volunteer location information.
