More than 800 people gathered to honor the survivors of the Holocaust and remember those who perished in it at Cleveland’s annual Yom Hashoah V’Hagvurah commemoration May 4 at Green Road Synagogue in Beachwood.
On the last Friday before Spring Break, the 8th grade class of Mandel JDS (along with their parents, and the entire school) stood proudly in front of the Israeli flag, singing Hatikvah, Israel’s national anthem. This tradition, commemorating the eighth grade’s upcoming voyage to Israel, has been around for nearly as long as the annual pilgrimage itself.
Cleveland loves Beit Shean! The energy was electric at our Celebrate our Partnership event, where 400+ people gathered to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the partnership between Cleveland and our sister city of Beit Shean and Valley of Springs, Israel.
