As more than 200 young Jewish Clevelanders gathered together in the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel, Adam Teitelbaum of the Israel Action Network and the Jewish Federations of North America, shared hope that out of this crisis will be a new awakening.

After the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Young Leadership Division mobilized to rebrand its Big Event as a Night of Unity to become a night of support.

Like many former campers, as Sadie Meyer headed off to college, took on more financial responsibility and faced more career pressures, she wasn’t sure if she would be able to return to camp as a counselor.

More than 1,000 people came out for a day of family fun and an important cause and raised $2,001,805 for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s annual Campaign for Jewish Needs Sept. 10, during its Super Sunday Kickoff.

After graduating from the College of Wooster in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Ellie Shafron did not know where her career path would take her, but knew she wanted to spend the next year in Israel.
