Zikaron BaSalon is an opportunity for Jewish Clevelanders in their 20s, 30s, and 40s to honor the victims and survivors of the Holocaust through personal conversations with a local Holocaust survivor. With the number of survivors declining, it's the responsibility of the second and third generations to continue telling these stories and keep the memory of the Holocaust alive.

In November 2022, 25 teens and two ShinShinim (Israeli emissaries) from Jewish Cleveland traveled through Atlanta, Montgomery, and Birmingham to discuss the Jewish involvement in the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 60s.

Alyson’s Place is a medical clinic imbedded into Jewish Family Service Association. Alyson's Place provides easy access to clients of JFSA, bringing together professionals and staff well-versed in people with diverse needs.

The Hillel Wellness Program is a partnership between three of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland's beneficiary agencies, Jewish Family Service Association (JFSA), Cleveland Hillel, Hillel at Kent State University. The program provides a mental health counselor from JFSA who comes to Hillel campuses to provide one-on-one services, group sessions, and any other services that a student needs.

In northern Israel about 40 miles southeast of Haifa and 70 miles northeast of Tel Aviv sits the town of Beit Shean/Valley of Springs. As Cleveland’s sister city, it faces similar geographic and cultural challenges – among them public perception and weather.

Through Cleveland's 25+ year partnership with its sister city of Beit Shean, Israel, we have helped to create sustainable change to improve the quality of life for all residents. We will continue in making Beit Shean a thriving and vibrant community for generations to come.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s community relations committee’s 76th annual meeting Feb. 27, featured speaker Yotam Polizer, Global CEO of IsraAID, discussed how his organization builds bridges with communities and provides aid in times of crisis.

College campuses have unfortunately become breeding grounds for antisemitism. With Jew hatred continuing to increase at an alarming rate, our college-age kids need to combat antisemitism on a much higher scale.

Growing up in Beit Shean, Israel, Cleveland’s sister city, Tomer Blise has always felt a strong connection to the Jewish Cleveland community. Tomer’s journey to Cleveland began in fourth grade when her love of books helped her develop confidence and leadership skills. She helped start a volunteer program with a few classmates at the Beit Shean Library helping the library director organize books and create programs for other teens. Each year the group would grow with more and more students and by the time she was in high school, she was one of the leaders of the group. As a high school sophomore, she was invited by the Jewish Federation to Cleveland as part of a delegation from the library which helped teach the method of involving and activating teens through libraries.

The Horvitz YouthAbility Program of Jewish Family Service Association (JFSA), a Federation beneficiary agency, places interns at various businesses and organizations in our community. This internship program is made possible by an endowment gift by the Bobby Fund of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.
