In November 2025, during the government shutdown, SNAP benefits were thrown into uncertainty. When our partners told us what they were seeing, the Federation stepped up to strengthen the safety net so people wouldn't go hungry. We moved quickly with an $85,000 emergency grant to increase immediate capacity at frontline providers.

When more than 20 bomb shelters in Cleveland's sister city of Beit Shean, Israel needed repairs, the Jewish Cleveland community stepped up. For nearly 10 years, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland has implemented STEM education in our sister city region in Israel - Beit Shean and Valley of Springs. The STEM ecosystem is helping to change the mindset of how children are learning from kindergarten through high school.

Since 2011, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland's Winter Break Lunch Program has served hundreds of students from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. The program fills the gap to serve children during their winter break who would normally receive a lunch at school.
