CLEVELAND – Jewish Clevelanders over 50 were invited to make an IMPACT! with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s new volunteer initiative for Baby Boomers. 400+ community members celebrated at the “Making an IMPACT! Launch Event” on January 7, 2016.

The best part of being born and raised in Cleveland is my deep sense of generational attachment to the Jewish community. My parents and grandparents set an example for me to give generously of time, talent, and resources. My commitment of giving back to the community is what motivates me to be a Jewish philanthropist.

Being a part of the Jewish Cleveland community is extremely important to me. My house has always been in suburban Cleveland, but the Jewish community has helped make this area my home. It has given me a sense of belonging to something much greater than my family alone.

While we have been fortunate so far this season, let’s get real, it’s going to snow at some point in the near future. It is December in Northeast Ohio, after all.

Thirteen years ago last Shabbat my best friend’s brother was murdered by Palestinian terrorists while providing reinforcement to IDF soldiers who had been ambushed outside the Cave of the Patriarchs. He left behind a wife and six children.

Our first snow day of the season didn't stop over 300 little ones and their families from giving thanks, giving back, and giving tzedakah at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland's Tzedakah Party!

CLEVELAND – Madeline (Maddie) McCann, 10, of Beachwood has been selected to join the national PJ Our Way Design Team, a prestigious position through the PJ Our Way program that gives young people the opportunity to develop leadership skills, while connecting with other pre-teens across the country.

Jewish Volunteer Network volunteers turned the Federation's Multi-Purpose room into a Chanukah Store, filled with a variety of games, toys, books, puzzles, and more for Chanukah in a Basket!
