For Eli, school wasn’t always a place where he felt successful. As a kindergartener at Yeshiva Derech HaTorah (YDT), he wanted to learn and cared about doing well, but significant speech and language challenges, difficulty focusing and self-regulating, and academic delays made each day a struggle.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced today the 2026 cohort of Mandel Myers Fellows who worked as staff at select Jewish overnight summer camps. This year’s program featured a cohort of 83 fellows.

Aug. 30 was a super Sunday for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Super Sunday, which kicked off the 2027 Campaign for Jewish Needs.

With our community’s support of the annual Campaign for Jewish needs, the school can continue to invest in resources, programs, and services that help meet students where they are and give them the opportunity to thrive.

Jewish Cleveland is deeply connected. It’s a statement community leaders have guessed at, and one proven true in the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 2022 population study, with 98% of participants reporting feeling connected to the Jewish people and over half saying “a great deal.”

This Sunday, our community will launch its annual Campaign for Jewish Needs with its largest day of collective action: Super Sunday Kickoff! On this day, our diverse community comes together to celebrate all that makes Jewish Cleveland special while ensuring this year’s fundraising efforts get off to a strong start. It is more than a day of volunteering or fundraising. It is a powerful expression of our shared belief that together we can accomplish far more than any of us can alone and of our shared responsibility for one another.

Three siblings found themselves caught in the middle of an increasingly contentious divorce and custody battle. As conflict between their parents escalated, the children experienced growing anxiety, confusion, and emotional distress. The instability at home began to affect multiple areas of their lives, including their behavior, relationships, and ability to function at school.

We are blessed to live in a city that has such strong and dedicated local law enforcement agencies working around the clock to keep us safe.

For Pepper Pike resident Lynne Cohen, the mission of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland was not something that she had to read to learn. Rather, the mission was demonstrated to her by both sets of grandparents growing up, and was echoed by her mother in everyday life.

Looking to top its record-breaking $39 million Campaign for Jewish Needs in 2026, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland will kickoff the 2027 campaign with Super Sunday on Aug. 30, bringing together community members with a lineup of activities that will both engage donors and raise critical dollars for the next year.
