Based on last year’s success, JVN is pleased to sponsor a Casserole Collection to address hunger relief in our local community. This effort is part of Good Deeds Day, a global day of good deeds which began in Israel and is now taking place around the world.

The Hebrew Shelter Home provides emergency and temporary housing for Jewish women and children escaping domestic violence or facing imminent homelessness. There is always a need for baby items.

Gather up gently used books your children are no longer reading or purchase new books to ensure that all kids growing up in Greater Cleveland have books of their own to read and cherish. A book in the hands of a child is a magical thing!

Start off 2022 by caring for those in need! As the community continues to deal with the ongoing effects of COVID-19, we are working with local human service agencies to identify ways to help at-risk members of our community and the vulnerable throughout Greater Cleveland. Together we can support these individuals by donating much needed items each month.

“icnext gives students the confidence and push they need to go on and continue to confront antisemitism and anti-Israel rhetoric when they leave home after high school,” said Tina Keller, Associate Director of @akiva. “These can be difficult and intimidating conversations, so we enable them to begin and practice in a comfortable setting.”

Twice a week, Katie, a Holocaust survivor, has meals delivered to her by a volunteer through Jewish Family Service Association (JFSA), a Federation beneficiary agency. Katie is one of hundreds of people every week in our community who receive hot meals through JFSA. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, JFSA staffers stepped up to meet the rapidly increasing demand. And once community members could resume delivery duties, a new, younger crop of volunteers emerged. "I can't stand up or walk as much as I used to be able to," Katie said. "So, I really appreciate having the meals come to me. But I enjoy the people who deliver it even more; they're such lovely, wonderful people."

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland is collecting essential and necessary items to be distributed for the Afghan community who have recently relocated to Cleveland.
