The Jewish Federation of Cleveland will host its annual ‘Super Sunday’ event, Jewish Cleveland’s single largest one-day give-a-thon of the year, on Sunday, October 14. Funds raised will benefit the Campaign for Jewish Needs, which is the Federation’s annual fundraising campaign that serves Jewish Cleveland and the global community.

Bonnie Marks has been retired for only 1½ years, but she hasn’t wasted any time getting involved with her community. Though she volunteered while employed, Marks now has the time to be involved with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, Bellefaire JCB and True2You.

That is the same message of Empowering Youth Exploring Justice (EYEJ) – to empower and amplify the voices of teens and pre-teens by bridging them with diverse individuals to engage in interactive discussions centered around social justice.

The cause that drove Judi Kovach, co-founder and chair of the Cleveland Kids’ Book Bank, to embrace the value of tikkun olam is children’s access to books, however she said others should work to find a cause that inspires them toward that same Jewish value.

Giving of yourself – it’s one of the biggest mitzvah’s you can do. Volunteers give of their time, some for longer periods, some are ‘Done in a Day.’
