Most people are familiar with the common practice of preparing a legal will which plans for distribution of assets after one’s lifetime. But Judaism also has a beautiful custom of creat-ing an end of life ethical will, or tzava’a. A tzava’a is where you can share your moral and spiritual legacy with your loved ones. It provides an opportunity to impart wisdom, life lessons and meaningful experiences to family members.

The Hebrew Academy of Cleveland is preserving Holocaust memory through a powerful new educational initiative. As part of the nationwide “Names, Not Numbers” program, eighth-grade boys at the academy spent a semester learning about the Holocaust and interviewing second-generation survivors to produce a documentary that will debut for the community June 16 at the academy.

26 Jewish high school juniors and seniors from public and private high schools across Cleveland have come together to recommend grants totaling $45,000 to 17 organizations for crucial programs in the Jewish and general community through the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 2024-2025 Maurice Saltzman Youth Panel.
