Resilient. It’s a word that those who traveled to Israel as part of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s weeklong mission trip used to describe not only the people they interacted with, but the vibe of the country as a whole, even amidst the destruction and war.

Two Israelis shared their personal experiences of the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas-led surprise attack on Israel with more than 1,200 community members and dignitaries at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 10-7-23 Commemoration.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland will hold its 10-7-23 Two-Year Commemoration at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at Landerhaven at 6111 Landerhaven Drive in Mayfield Heights.

In his first year as CEO and director general of The Jewish Agency for Israel, Yehuda Setton visited Cleveland to meet with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland leadership, express his gratitude for their support and discuss future partnership initiatives.

In the summer of 2024, teens from Kibbutz Kissufim, Federation's partner community in the Gaza Envelope, traveled to Cleveland and spent four weeks at Camp Wise.
