New Cemetery Managed by Federation

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland has expanded its Cemetery Preservation efforts, adding Ridge Road #2 Cemetery in Brooklyn, Ohio. Ridge Road #2 becomes the seventh Jewish cemetery to be managed by the Federation’s Commission on Cemetery Preservation (COCP), which is now responsible for the upkeep of over 15,000 graves. Others include: Baxter Cemetery, Chesed Shel Emeth, Fir Street Cemetery, Harvard Cemetery, Lansing Cemetery, and Workmen’s Circle section of Lincoln Cemetery. In Jewish tradition, there is no greater mitzvah (good deed) than honoring those who came before us.

Shari S. Perlmuter of Pepper Pike has been named the 2016 recipient of the Ruby Bass Award, honoring her volunteerism and dedication to the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. Perlmuter was presented with the award at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland Women’s Philanthropy Signature Event on September 27.

Super Sunday Raises $1 Million

Hundreds of volunteers gathered around tables in the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building. In the commotion of talking and laughing, with two projector screens showing the Cleveland Browns' inevitable loss to the Miami Dolphins, with musical acts performing to the crowd, you could be forgiven for thinking the Jewish Federation of Cleveland was hosting one heck of a party.
