Following a nearly 10-month span during which Jews were slain at two synagogues across the country and two men were arrested for plotting synagogue shootings in Ohio, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland is preparing to bolster funding for already heightened security as it launches its 2020 Campaign for Jewish Needs.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland will host its annual ‘Super Sunday’ event – Jewish Cleveland’s single largest one-day give-a-thon of the year – on Sunday, September 22. Funds raised will benefit the Campaign for Jewish Needs, which provides the critical dollars needed to change and improve lives in Cleveland, Israel, and around the world.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland will launch the 2020 Campaign for Jewish Needs on Wednesday, August 28 at a special event that will be open to the public at 7:00 pm at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation (27501 Fairmount Blvd in Pepper Pike). The Campaign for Jewish Needs is the Federation’s annual fundraising campaign that raises the critical dollars needed to change and improve lives in Cleveland, Israel, and around the world.

After conducting nearly 65 meetings to determine where the $32.7 million raised from the 2019 Campaign for Jewish Needs will be dedicated, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s allocation committee proposed its recommendation to Federation’s board of trustees, which unanimously approved the recommendations June 17.
