About the Business Systems Analyst position:

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland is performing a multi-year transformation of their business systems. To help ensure the success of this transformation, the Federation has created this new position – Business Systems Analyst – to support the usage and ongoing management of the technology stack that powers our robust fundraising, financial, and business operations. This role will be responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, developing system solutions, end-user training, and supporting enhancements to maximize efficiency, data accuracy, and user adoption across departments.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Work closely with business owners and end-users to understand needs, pain points, and opportunities.
  • Collect and document system requirements and translate into functional specifications and design documents, ensuring the solution meets the needs of stakeholders.
  • Create and manage documentation of system design decisions, use-cases, process flows, enhancements, and test scripts.
  • Work in partnership with the solutions architects, system administrators, and software partners to design and implement technical solutions that resolve business issues.
  • Work with partners to ensure organizational knowledge transfer of documentation, system configurations, and customizations.
  • Evaluate existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions for optimization.
  • Assist in the design, testing, and rollout of new features, integrations, and reporting.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate deliverables against requirements.
  • Assist in the design and development of dashboards, queries, and ad hoc reports.
  • Develop training materials, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer sessions to users at all levels.
  • Support troubleshooting and serve as a point of contact for functional issues.
  • Participate in new system software evaluations, including supporting the development of requirements, creating RFPs, and software selection activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or relevant experience. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, ideally with ERP or CRM systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems including (ERP, CRM, and or HRIS systems - specifically Oracle NetSuite and/or Salesforce). Experience within a non-profit organization is a plus.
  • Business process knowledge in finance, fundraising, and/or operations. Understanding of core finance and accounting processes is a plus.
  • Experience in project management and system implementations is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate processes and recommend solutions.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills (requirements, SOPs, workflows).
  • Proficiency in reporting and data visualization tools (NetSuite, Salesforce, Excel, BI tools).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously while consistently meeting short deadline situations.
  • High attention to detail, follow-up, self-motivated, proactive, and solution minded.
  • Experience with enterprise Data Warehousing, Business Process Automation, AI, is a plus.
