Calling all Middle and High School Students: Enter your essays and artwork for the 2019 Yom Hashoah V’Hagvurah Creative Arts Contest, Cleveland’s Commemoration of the Holocaust & Heroism.

The theme for this year's contest is "What Happened After."

After the Holocaust, survivors took a new path toward rebuilding their lives. Many spent time in displaced person camps. Many had to immigrate to a new country, where they had to learn a new language, new customs, and a new way of life.

  • Deadline for entries is February 8, 2019.
  • Cash prizes up to $2,500 may be awarded.
  • Winners and their schools will be recognized at the Yom Hashoah V’Hagvurah commemoration on May 1 at B'nai Jeshurun Congregation.

For more information, contact Debbie Klein at the Federation at dklein@jcfcleve.org or 216-593-2834.

Entry Form is available here.

Rules and Guidelines are available here.

The Yom Hashoah Creative Arts Contest and the annual Yom Hashoah Commemoration are sponsored by the Kol Israel Foundation and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.
