Additional $33,349,261 Raised to Date for Israel Emergency Campaign
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced that a record $36,355,013 has been raised by 9,045 gifts representing 11,881 donors in the 2024 Campaign for Jewish Needs, the annual fundraising campaign that serves Jewish Cleveland and the global community. Additionally, the community raised $33,349,261 for the Israel Emergency Campaign to date since launching immediately following the terrorist attack in Israel on October 7. These totals were shared at the Campaign Closing Event at the Mandel Jewish Community Center on December 13.
In addition to highlighting the community’s various accomplishments of the 2024 Campaign, attendees also recognized Jonathon Nisenboum, recipient of the 2023 Ambassador Milton A. and Roslyn Z. Wolf Young Campaigner of the Year Award, and thanked Beth Wain Brandon for her leadership as Campaign chair over the past two years.
“Our community’s commitment to each other and to Jews around the world is unmatched,” said Daniel N. Zelman, Federation board chair. “In the face of unrelenting hatred targeting Jews – fueled in part by growing anti-Israel sentiment – Jewish Clevelanders proudly stood together to ensure all those in need – locally and globally – can get the necessary care and support by generously supporting this year’s Campaign for Jewish Needs."
Zelman continued, “Beth’s tenure as Campaign chair were under circumstances that were anything but normal – including wars in Ukraine and Israel. Thanks to her strong leadership and commitment to meeting the needs in our community, Beth was able to help our loyal Campaign volunteers and Federation staff achieve superb results. The Cleveland Jewish community and the Jewish community throughout the world is better for her efforts.”
