An evening with David Wain and Beth Wain Brandon.

Join the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Young Leadership Division and Women IN Philanthropy to celebrate the community, support the 2022 Campaign for Jewish Needs, and honor Shoshana Dessler Jacobs, this year’s recipient of the Irene Zehman Volunteer Award.

You will not want to miss this exclusive event!

Join Cleveland native, David Wain, director, writer, actor and comedian, and his sister and Federation leader, Beth Wain Brandon for a conversation about community, philanthropy, and growing up in Jewish Cleveland.

Gather for Good with a small group for light appetizers, desserts, and Chanukah treats at one of the many in-person watch parties throughout the community or watch from the comfort of your own home.

Shoshana Dessler Jacobs is the co-founder and executive director of Israel Medical Fund, a nonprofit supporting medical initiatives in Israel. Her work with Israel Medical Fund and its subsidiaries helps bridge the gaps in the Israeli healthcare system and provide life-changing medical care.

In addition to her work with these Israeli nonprofits, Shoshana serves as a board member for Jewish Family Services Association and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. She is a Women IN Philanthropy vice chair, a member of Jewish Federations of North America’s National Young Leadership Cabinet, and member of the Wexner Heritage Program Cleveland 21 Cohort.

She currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio with her husband and six wonderful children.

Beth Wain Brandon currently serves as a Federation Board of Trustees vice chair. She has served as the Federation’s Government Relations Committee chair, Women IN Philanthropy chair, and Allocations Committee chair.

Beth has also served on numerous Jewish organization boards, as a director of the Mount Sinai Health Care Foundation, and on the Executive Committee of Bellefaire JCB. She previously served as secretary for Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, and president of the Ohio Jewish Communities Board.

Beth was named a Woman of Achievement by YWCA of Greater Cleveland in 2014, helping formerly homeless individuals and families reach self-sufficiency through the Circle of Women program. She is involved at Planned Parenthood, to keep the organization’s mission alive in Cleveland, and is a past board chair of Recovery Resources.

David Wain is the director and co-writer of six feature films, including Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models, Wanderlust and They Came Together and most recently A Futile and Stupid Gesture.

On television, Wain co-created, directed and co-starred in The State, Childrens Hospital, Stella and two Wet Hot American Summer mini-series for Netflix. His most recent show is the Netflix action comedy series Medical Police.

He’s acted in dozens of movies and TV shows including Broad City, Another Period, Drunk History, Portlandia, Bob’s Burgers and his own web series Wainy Days.
