Join us for a special conversation with General Mansour abu Rashid, a decorated Jordanian General who was responsible for preparing the peace agreement between Jordan and Israel.
Currently, General Mansour abu Rashid is chairman of the Amman Center for Peace and Development, a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting comprehensive peace and cooperation between Jordan and other countries. For the last 16 years, the Amman Center has been the Federation’s principle partner in developing a unique cross-border initiative between Israelis and Jordanians.
To share his story with us, General General Mansour abu Rashid will be interviewed by Judge Dan Polster, Chair of the Federation's Jordan Cross-Border Subcommittee.

ABOUT GENERAL MANSOUR ABU RASHID:
General Mansour abu Rashid was born In Amman, Jordan in 1946. In 1991, Mansour was nominated to be a member of the Jordanian Delegation to the Multilateral Peace Conference in Madrid, specializing in Security and Border Relations. As the Jordanian Chief of Intelligence, he was nominated by the late King Hussein to serve as the nation’s top-security official, responsible for preparing a peace agreement with Israel. The historic peace agreement between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and State of Israel was signed in October 1994, and soon thereafter, Mansour became the Head of the Liaison and Coordination Bureau, responsible for Security Relations between Jordanian and Israeli armed forces. He also jointed most of the Joint Israeli-Jordanian Committees. As an inspiration to the legacy of the late King Hussein, immediately after the appointment of King Abdullah, Mansour was asked to establish an non-governmental organization, the Amman Center for Peace and Development (ACPD), dedicated to promoting comprehensive peace and cooperation between Jordan and other countries. Since its inception, ACPD, under Mansour’s leadership as chairman, has carved out a leading role in promoting peace and reconciliation in our region. General Mansour abu Rashid currently residents in Amman and is married with two daughters and five sons.
