The Jewish Education Center of Cleveland (JEC), the education planning arm of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, today announced that Seymour B. Kopelowitz, MBA, PhD. plans to retire on June 30, 2021. JEC Associate Director Marlyn Bloch Jaffe has been named as his successor.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland joined with AJC and the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage for the third and final program in a webinar series about issues that are impacting our nation.

We are saddened to share the loss of Norman Wain z"l, Federation Board of Trustee Emeritus and past Campaign Chair.

Like many other communal events, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Super Sunday will look different this year for volunteers who typically gather at a telephone bank and schmooze with each other.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland will host its annual “Super Sunday” event – Jewish Cleveland’s single largest one-day give-a-thon of the year – on Sunday, October 18 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. For the first time ever, this event will be completely virtual so community members will be able to volunteer from the comfort of their own home. Funds raised will benefit the 2021 Campaign for Jewish Needs, which provides critical dollars needed to change and improve lives in Cleveland and around the world.

Small groups and individuals approached the Kol Israel Foundation Memorial at Mount Zion Cemetery in Bedford Heights on Sept. 27 for the 19th annual Fall Memorial, taking turns paying respect to their ancestors who were victims of the Holocaust.

Planned giving is something older adults tend to participate in – whether through an estate plan or annual funds. However, many organizations find themselves in need of targeting new and younger donors.
