The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced today the 2024 class of Mandel Myers Fellows who worked as staff at select Jewish overnight summer camps. This year’s program featured the fellowship’s largest cohort yet with 87 fellows , growing from 67 fellows in 2023 and 54 in 2022.

When it launched some 20 years ago, no one could have predicted how desperately needed this program of @akiva High School – a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland – would be today.

Participants on the Cleveland Young Professional Volunteer Mission to Israel spent eight days volunteering across the country, met with Israeli contemporaries to learn more about their lives, and experienced life in Israel post-October 7. Read about some of the participants' experience below:

More than 1,000 community members came together for Ratzim Bishvilam (“Running For Them”) to honor the innocent people killed or kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, 2023. This marked six months since the attack on Israel.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced that Gabrielle Lincoff Jerusalem has been awarded the 2023 Bennett and Donna Yanowitz Leadership Award, which recognizes and honors an outstanding young individual who has demonstrated commitment, involvement, and leadership within Cleveland’s Jewish community. She received the award at the Federation’s Board of Trustees meeting on March 13.

People and their perspectives are shaped by their identities, and while Hen Mazzig identifies with several minority communities, none is more important than his Jewish identity.

As the new residents of Moishe House Cleveland host several events each month, they aim to provide space for young Jewish adults in Cleveland looking for community.
