When more than 20 bomb shelters in Cleveland's sister city of Beit Shean, Israel needed repairs, the Jewish Cleveland community stepped up. Renovations to these spaces came at such a critical time including building classrooms, repairing pipes, installing generators, refrigerators, and air conditioners, and more.

In response to the escalation of "Operation Roaring Lion", the Jewish Federation of Cleveland is making a $1M emergency grant to the Jewish Agency’s Operation Roaring Lion Fund.

After the Jewish Federation of Cleveland released its 2022 Greater Cleveland Jewish Community Study, Kim Pesses, chair of the population study committee, told the Cleveland Jewish News the data pointed to one key takeaway: “Jewish Cleveland is large and stable.”

Growing up in Solon, Maddy Mizrachi never would have guessed she would have ended up working in the Jewish nonprofit space. In fact, she wasn’t deeply involved in the community until she started college at Kent State University.

Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s community relations committee hosted its 2026 Tu B’Shevat Sustainability Celebration on Feb. 5 at Urban Community School in Cleveland, bringing together community members, environmental leaders and partners to honor the Jewish new year for trees through the lens of sustainability and collaboration.

A few weeks after the bloodiest attack on Jews since the Holocaust, a small group of Northeast Ohio leaders traveled to Israel and met with family members desperate for news about loved ones taken hostage to the Gaza Strip by Hamas. In those waning days of October 2023, Israel was still determining who was among the more than 251 hostages, and who had been killed.
