The Jewish Federation of Cleveland, in partnership with Anti-Defamation League (ADL), AJC Cleveland, Facing History and Ourselves, Mandel JCC, Kol Israel Foundation, Maltz Museum, and The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio will host SHINE A LIGHT on Antisemitism, a special menorah lighting for people of all faiths to renew a collective commitment to fighting the rapidly escalating modern-day antisemitism and Jew hatred.

To “Shine A Light on Antisemitism,” the Jewish Federation of Cleveland held a special Chanukah menorah lighting ceremony Dec. 20, with remarks from community leaders about the rise in antisemitism and the importance of standing together.

Tonight we join with our Jewish neighbors in Cleveland and across the country to celebrate the miracle of Chanukah. We also stand united with them in the face of growing hatred and violence being directed at Jews today in our country. From stereotyping to scapegoating to physical attacks and worse, Jews are again in the crosshairs of intolerance and ignorance.

On the third day of Chanukah, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland will host Shine A Light on Antisemitism Dec. 20 with a special menorah lighting ceremony and remarks from community leaders.

After more than three months full of events and campaigning, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland concluded its 2023 Campaign for Jewish Needs Dec. 7, raising a record $34,870,821.

LAVAA, a digital health company in Israel, has hired three Clevelanders who interned with the startup over the summer through the Cleveland Onward Israel program with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced that a record $34,870,821 has been raised by 8,890 gifts – including 1,896 new gifts to the Campaign – representing 12,178 donors in the 2023 Campaign for Jewish Needs, the annual fundraising campaign that serves Jewish Cleveland and the global community.

More than 250 people attended or tuned into the first hybrid Women IN Philanthropy MaIN Event Dec. 1, as they supported the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 2023 annual Campaign for Jewish Needs, honored Heather Schlang and were entertained by comedy writer Carol Leifer.
